Casa do Mira is ideally located in the centre of the historic part of the
village, just one minute from the beach and the River Mira and its
beautiful estuary.  Good for water sports, kayaking and boat trips up the
river.  There is a small ferry service across the estuary to the large
sandy beaches of Furnas.

It has been tastefully renovated, still retaining a rustic charm with
traditional terracotta flooring throughout and accompanying marble. Yet
it has all the modern conveniences to ensure your stay is as comfortable
as possible.

On entering this traditional house you will be able to relax in the well
furnished sitting room, which, in summer is cool and in winter benefits
from central heating and a large open fire.  There is satellite tv and a
music system.

 

The kitchen and dining area is well equipped with fridge, freezer,
microwave, oven and hob.  Glass doors lead to a small courtyard .  There
is also a shower room on the ground floor with wash hand basin and wc and
small utility area.

A wide marble staircase leads to the large bedroom which is furnished with
a beautiful antique four poster bed.  There is a seating area and balcony
where one can savour an early morning coffee whilst enjoying the view to
the beach.  There is an ensuite bathroom comprising bath with hand shower,
wc and basin.

Within a short stroll many outdoor cafes and restaurants offer fresh
seafood, particularly at the beach restaurants where you can experience
the delights of the barbecued sea bream to be accompanied by local
Alentejo wines.  The village square offers entertainment in the main
summer months.  For those of you who like to explore further afield, there
is the historic town of Odemira which is a 15 minute drive and is situated
on a hill over the River Mira. 

The coastal strip surrounding Vila Nova De Milfontes boasts impressive
beaches and coves such as Almograve, Zambujeira do Mar and Cabo Sardao
where storks nest in the crags that cannot be seen anywhere else in the
world.
